About this program

In settlements throughout South Africa, children have a deep need for development programs that help to teach them important life skills, discipline, self-esteem and more. Here’s your chance to reach out to those kids and provide to them some of the great skills you have to offer.

In the mornings at this program, you’ll spend time with pre-school aged kids, as well as other kids who do not attend school. You’ll work closely on development with these children.

In the afternoons, you’ll participate in various sports projects such as teaching children to play soccer, cricket, netball and team sports. These lessons are important as it teaches the children the importance of teamwork, and works towards the ultimate goal of keeping kids out of street gangs, crime, delinquency and even teenage pregnancy.

Some of the highlights of this program include:

  • Teaching kids sports
  • Teaching childhood fitness and hygiene
  • Assisting with classroom activities
  • Running sports programs and “Fun Days”
  • Being a positive role model throughout the program
  • Educating the kids in important life lessons including drugs, sex, etc.
  • Helping with basic maintenance projects like repairing soccer posts and building of facilities.

If working with kids is your passion, or if you’re looking at a career working with children, this program is extremely beneficial and will completely change your life!
