About this program

Travel to South Africa and participate in an extramural program for disadvantaged youth. As a volunteer, you will assist with the main objective of the program, which is to help keep kids off the streets after school by providing extracurricular activities.

Working with the kids, you’ll spend a significant amount of time teaching them with the use of activities like teamwork, adventure activities, educational classes, swimming, surfing, and skateboarding. The use of fun activities is incentive for the kids to do well in school, which works towards a greater purpose of giving them a brighter future.

The area of the program is in the Western Cape, which is a very culturally diverse area. There is a mix of classes, cultures and even languages. Keeping the kids occupied will keep them from falling into the wrong crowds, and getting involved in drugs, alcohol and local gangs.

You can look forward to the following:

  • Learn how to surf and teach the kids to surf
  • Learn how to skateboard and teach the kids
  • Spend your days outside and on the beach
  • Assist in classrooms
  • Help kids develop life, educational and athletic skills
  • Make new friends
  • Learn about cultures

This is an incredible opportunity for anyone looking for a life-changing experience working with kids and making a huge difference in their lives!
