What to Expect?

Includes:

Airport pick up and drop off (at closest airport), All inclusive accommodation, All meals, On-site training, Emergency Support, Donation to Placement Partner, AEI Travel Manual, Carbon credits to offset 3 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions.

Accommodation: You will be staying at one of the private, single occupancy residences at Trent University. The cost of meals is included in your AEI Experience. Trent University is well known for the Trent International Program (TIP) and has an active and vibrant international student association. AEI believes that accommodations based in the community will provide you with an easy way to integrate into Canadian culture.

Volunteer Activities: Medical volunteer activities include assessing, diagnosing and treating sick and injured turtles, collecting blood samples, administering anesthesia and performing surgical procedures. Standard volunteer activities include cleaning enclosures, feeding the turtles, tending to incubating eggs, helping with administrative tasks, and assisting with education and outreach programs. The busy season starts in late April and continues through to September. If you wish to participate in medical volunteer activities, please apply for a placement during this time period.
