How about signing up for jungle survival training, while helping save Orangutans at the same time? You'll enter one of the world’s last great wildernesses. Divided between Malaysia and Indonesia, the project is based in Kalimantan. Working with a new orangutan rehabilitation project, you'll head deep into the jungle to help construct rope bridges, hides and viewing structures. It's the location for BBC TV series "Orang-utan Diary", and you will also trek into the jungle, tracking to provide valuable insight on pre-released orangutans.
What to Expect?

Accommodation - During your Jungle Training you will be staying in lodges with dorm rooms and shared bathrooms. During your travel upriver, project work and trekking it will be back to nature, staying in jungle camps, sleeping in hammocks and enjoying the untouched jungle around you!
Meals - Basic and nutritious, lots of rice and vegetables with occasional meat (fish, chicken, boar). In the jungle you will typically live off a Basic Army Ration Diet: Breakfast: Porridge, Lunch: Crackers, Tuna & Peanut butter, Dinner: Vegetable curry & rice/noodles, Plus drinks, snacks and additional local food collected from the jungle including bamboo, river fern & katkong and local fruit like buapua, lansat, jackfruit and durian
Staff - Throughout the expedition your group will have a Trekforce Expedition Leader. We will also be working with local guides and staff during the training and project work. Typically there will also be a medic during the jungle phase due to the remote nature of the project. There will also be 24/7 support from our UK Team as well.
Transportation - Transport to and from the airport, to each phase and for all tours on the itinerary will be included. Transport can vary from taxi, minibus, local buses and boat depending on the journey.
