Kiboko House Volunteers has partnered with one of the biggest public hospitals in Kenya to capacity build and therefore reduce congestion in our medical hospitals by providing volunteer placements. This program is recommended for medical interns and Volunteer Medics. The hospital is a teaching hospital and therefore students on a medical intern program will find this a very educative and hands on placement. Some of the areas that are offered will definitely give you an edge on your career as we offer a special placement lectures on Tropical Medicine and a placement to go with it.

This is offered as a special program as tropical medicine is often given wrong diagnosis and treated in countries away from the tropics. Our placements offers very specialized medical placements as well as a General Hospital Rotational Program. Some of the areas on offer are: Operating Theater Practice and Surgical Wards Placement. Midwifery Programs. Mother Child Health Programs with Ante Natal and Prenatal Clinic Placements. Medical Programs with prominence to Diabetic Clinic, Hypertensive Clinic, TB Clinic and General Outpatient Clinic. HIV/AIDS Clinic Program and Medical Outreaches. What to Expect?

With the above Placement we offer: Airport Pick UP. City Induction and tour. Home Stay with a Modern Kenyan Family Host, or Volunteer House: A clean room, Breakfast and Dinner. At the program in your Project Placement, expect to work in a demanding medical field at Hospital with about 1000 in patients capacity and more than 1200 Outpatient cases daily and equally busy casualty.

Most of your work will be hands on but supervised after full integration by the hospital supervisory team. Mombasa will be your home City which means great warm weather, very hospitable people, a White Sandy Beach and Warm Oceanic waters just under 20 minutes ride in local buses (Matatus). Great African Cuisine.

You can also take a Safari to Tsavo East and or Tsavo West National Parks after your placement is due. Tsavo National Parks have largely been dubbed, "the theatres of Africa" Our Project Coordinator will also offer you 24hour emergency support.
