What to Expect?

Throughout the expedition you will be immersed in various areas of conservation, community development and environmental awareness. You will also have time available to further explore the region and get to know your team of fellow international volunteers.

Your immersion in various projects is very much dependent on the need on the ground and the time of the year: from November to March, you may be involved in sea turtle research and conservation; May to October sees more terrestrial and community work during the rainy season such as mangrove research, planting and education; beach cleans and community education take place year round.

Projects in the community can vary from environmental education with the general community, schools, hotels and tour & dive operators, and the importance of protecting our natural environment; to English language teaching. We have been working in the neighbouring province of Krabi for several years, providing 1000’s of hours of classroom teaching. Please note conservation efforts on this expedition are seasonal so projects will vary throughout the course of the year.

Your base is small but comfortable, with enough space for people to relax together, or in private. If you would prefer to stay in private accommodation while on this project, this location does offer upgrades.

WORTH NOTING:  This expedition offers qualifying and high-performing participants the chance to stay on for a longer duration on a scholarship free of charge, and as part of the staff team in the field in Thailand. If you would like to work towards a field career and make the very most of your time abroad, you might want to work towards a place on a scholarship. Successful individuals may find themselves offered full time, in-destination employment with the program.
